Budget Voice ("we", "our", or "the app") is developed by Sondre Engström, operating as a sole trader (enskild firma) based in Malmö, Sweden. This Privacy Policy explains what data we collect, how we use it, and your rights under applicable law including the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

1. Data Controller

2. What Data We Collect

We collect only the minimum data necessary to operate the app.

Budget and expense data — amounts, categories, and notes you enter in the app. This is stored locally on your device.
Voice input — when you use voice commands, audio is processed on-device using your phone's built-in speech recognition (Apple Siri or Google Assistant). We do not receive or store your voice recordings.
Subscription and purchase data — managed by RevenueCat (see section 4). This includes an anonymous user ID and your subscription status.
Crash and diagnostic data — if you opt in, anonymised crash reports may be collected to help us fix bugs.

3. How We Use Your Data

To provide and improve the app's core functionality
To validate your subscription and unlock premium features
To diagnose and fix crashes or technical issues
To comply with legal obligations

We do not sell your data to third parties. We do not use your data for advertising.

4. RevenueCat (Subscription Management)

Budget Voice uses RevenueCat to manage in-app subscriptions on both iOS and Android. RevenueCat processes the following data on our behalf:

An anonymous App User ID (not linked to your name or email)
Purchase history (subscription tier, start date, renewal status)
Device platform (iOS or Android)

RevenueCat does not have access to your name, email, or any financial details. All payment processing is handled directly by Apple App Store or Google Play.

RevenueCat is based in the United States. Data is transferred under standard contractual clauses in compliance with GDPR. You can read RevenueCat's privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy.

5. Apple and Google

When you make a purchase through the App Store or Google Play, Apple or Google process your payment and provide us with confirmation of your subscription status. We do not receive your payment details. Apple and Google operate under their own privacy policies.

6. Data Storage and Security

Your budget data is stored locally on your device. We use industry-standard security practices including TLS encryption for any data transmitted to third-party services. We do not operate our own servers that store your personal budget data.

7. Data Retention

Your local app data is retained until you delete the app or clear its data. Subscription data held by RevenueCat is retained for as long as your account is active and for a reasonable period thereafter to resolve any disputes, in accordance with applicable law.

8. Your Rights Under GDPR

If you are located in the European Economic Area, you have the following rights:

Access — request a copy of the data we hold about you
Rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
Erasure — request deletion of your data ("right to be forgotten")
Restriction — request that we limit processing of your data
Portability — receive your data in a structured, machine-readable format
Objection — object to processing based on legitimate interests
Withdraw consent — where processing is based on consent, you can withdraw at any time

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at sondre.engstrom@hotmail.com. We will respond within 30 days. You also have the right to lodge a complaint with the Swedish supervisory authority, IMY (Integritetsskyddsmyndigheten), at imy.se.

9. Children

Budget Voice is not directed at children under 13 years of age. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will delete it.

10. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of significant changes through the app or by updating the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
